POLICE OFFICER
Full Time Position
The Perry Township Police Department is accepting applications for a Full-time Police Officer.
Applicants must have the following:

A valid driver’s license

High school diploma or GED
-
Ohio Basic Law Enforcement Training Certification
Successful applicants must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and psychological testing. Starting salary is dependent upon experience. (see below)
Duties include but are not limited to enforcement of all criminal and traffic laws of the State of Ohio, investigation of suspicious or unusual incidents occurring during his/her tour of duty, and conducting preliminary investigations of all actual crimes which he/she discovers or is assigned to investigate; and makes arrests for felony or misdemeanor offenses in accordance with State Statutes.

Enforce the laws and ordinances of the township and all other pertinent laws with dignity and respect

Patrol assigned areas during a specific period both in a vehicle and on foot

Investigate suspicious activity and make arrests when appropriate

Maintain records, prepare reports and perform related clerical duties

Provide general information to the public concerning police action and enforcement

Conduct crowd control during public gatherings

Maintain a personal high standard of physical fitness and nutrition with the ability to respond appropriately to stressful and/or challenging situations
Requirements: Minimum education is that of a high school diploma/GED with an Ohio Basic Law Enforcement Training certificate. Preference is given to candidates with the following: Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Sworn Law Enforcement or Active Duty Military experience. Must be 21 and possess a valid driver’s license at the time of hire. Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
