Our department currently utilizes four late model Ford Explorers for road patrol. These SUV's increase our capabilities during inclement weather (especially snow) and off-road with their 4-wheel drive systems. These vehicle's are obtained through state contract pricing and cost the same, or less, than a traditional cruiser. Due to our participation in local task force investigations, we have been able to pay for these vehicles by utilizing the money gained through seized assets. |

The Perry Township Police Department is located in the western portion of Montgomery County. Our department covers 36 square miles and contains approximately 120 miles of roadway. The Township is bordered by Westbrook Road (north), N. Diamond Mill Road (east), Preble Co. Line Road (west) and SR-35 (south) and contains portions of Brookville and New Lebanon. Our department currently employs five full time positions includning the Chief of Police, two Sergeants and two Detectives. We also have 7 part-time and numerous auxilliary officers. All officers have the primary duty of road patrol and ensuring the safety of all the citizens of the township as well as the large number of persons that travel through the township on a daily basis. The auxillary officers are fully trained and sworn police officers who volunteer their time to help patrol the township and serve its citizens. The police department is currently being dispatched by the Brookville Police Department. In the near future, we will transfer dispatching services to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office along with Brookville, New Lebanon, German Township and Germantown. This will increase our capabilities and place all jurisdictions on one radio system. |
